Why 6 PM Works

A 6 PM ceremony hits the sweet spot: guests arrive after work without rushing, dinner falls at a natural hour, and the reception builds energy through the night.

2:00 PM — Vendor Setup

Florist, photographer, musicians arrive. Couple eats their last real meal.

4:00 PM — First Look and Photos

90 minutes for couple portraits, wedding party, and family photos before the ceremony.

6:00 PM — Ceremony

25-30 minute ceremony: processional, vows, rings, kiss, recessional.

6:30 PM — Cocktail Hour

Passed appetizers, signature cocktails, background music. Couple joins if photos done earlier.

7:45 PM — Dinner

Toasts between courses. Best man after salad, maid of honor after entree.

9:00 PM — First Dance

First dance and parent dances, then dance floor opens to all guests.

10:30 PM — Late-Night Snack

Sliders, pizza, or churros to refuel dancers for the final hour.

11:30 PM — Last Dance and Send-Off

Final song, sparkler send-off, guests depart within 15 minutes.

Buffer Time

Build 10-15 minutes of buffer into each transition to prevent cascade delays.
